ISS2026 Banquet Information
The ISS2026 Banquet will be held on Wednesday, December 2, starting at 18:30, at the Toyama Denki Building
(Address: 3-1 Sakurabashi-dōri, Toyama City, Toyama 930-0004, Japan). The venue is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Toyama International Conference Center.
The Toyama Denki Building is a historic landmark that has played an important role in the region’s cultural and economic development. Completed in 1936, the building is renowned for its stately tile-clad exterior and early Shōwa-era architectural style. Together with the former Toyama Prefectural Office, it is considered one of Toyama’s representative pre-war architectural structures.
Originally constructed as the headquarters of Nihonkai Electric, the building also housed the prestigious Toyama Denki Building Hotel, which once welcomed distinguished guests such as Emperor Shōwa. Its robust steel-reinforced concrete structure survived the 1945 Toyama air raid with limited damage, and much of its original appearance remains intact today. In recognition of its historical and architectural significance, the building was designated a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in 2018. Today, it serves as a major venue for events and community activities, offering halls, meeting rooms, offices, and restaurants.
