ISS AWARDS

At ISS2026, we are pleased to announce two awards: the ISS Best Student Award, designated for student presenters, and the ISS Best Presentation Award, intended for young researchers aged 34 and under.
We warmly encourage all eligible participants to apply. Please note that only applicants who have registered in advance will be considered for evaluation. When submitting your abstract, you must select either the Student Award or the Presentation Award.

If you did not apply during the abstract submission process but wish to apply now, please contact the ISS-Secretariat at info4iss@iss-board.org and provide your full name, abstract submission number, and the type of award you wish to apply for.

The reason for distinguishing between the Student Award and the Presentation Award is that each is evaluated according to different criteria. Both poster and oral presentations are eligible for review, and no preference will be given to either format.

Please also note that invited speakers are not eligible for these awards. One awardee will be selected from each of the following four thematic areas:PC (Physics and Chemistry)ED (Electronic Devices)WB (Wires and Bulk)AP (Large Scale Applications)

Award recipients will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on the final day of the symposium, where commemorative gifts will be presented by Chairperson Prof. Akira Fujimaki. In addition, the awardees will be featured on the official ISS website.
